The ancient art and science of Yoga, brings joy and improves the quality of life.

  • Enhance the body with the practice of Asana - postures

  • Energise through Pranayama - breath awareness

  • Focus the mind with Dhayana - meditation

My Classes

I teach traditional and holistic Hatha Yoga with a focus on correct posture alignment, safety modifications based on personal ability. Elements of yoga philosophy are seamlessly woven into the class.  Before long you will feel stronger, more relaxed and will probably sleep and digest better. Yoga isn’t just a type of physical exercise but a mindful practice that will positively influence all aspects of your life.

  • The term Hatha Yoga has been commonly used to describe the practice of asana (postures). The syllable ha denotes the pranic (vital) force governing the physical body and tha denotes the chitta (mental) force thus making Hatha Yoga a catalyst to an awakening of the two energies that govern our lives.

  • Asana - Postures to stretch and tone

Yoga poses help to develop a strong, healthy body by enhancing flexibility and improving circulation. Every posture - Asana, has both a simple and a more challenging version. All students, regardless of strength and flexibility, are encouraged to understand the simple versions of the postures with correct alignment before the more complex versions are attempted. Students can then choose the level of difficulty that suits them, from moment to moment, day to day.

    Pranayama - Breath expansion/control

Deep, conscious breathing reduces stress and many diseases. It helps to cope with stress, and give calmness of mind. It helps reduce pain and stiffness, increase vitality, balances the hormones, helps fight obesity and reduce weight, promotes better sleep, enhances overall sharpness, focus, performance and well-being. Pranayama practices prepare the mind for deeper meditation.

    Relaxation

Relaxation helps to keep the body from going into overload, easing worry and fatigue. Ten to fifteen minute Yoga Nidra - led relaxation, is a perfect way to conclude a yoga session.
